II Clouds
April 5 – July 20, 2013
Clouds are made of damp. While colliding, the two clouds are shivering our dreams.
Look at this window drawing as if it were a romantic panorama of a hunted phantom Internet, an automatic transcription of mental images informed by Chinese calligraphy and ink wash painting. How fast can the artist project himself into this thin, continuous mark?
Bizzare theories come out of his neural woods as drawings, further animated, covered in paint, switched into objects, brought together as installations. Silhouettes of humans in search of their signal, ghostly forms hunting for their cloud – these all belong to an alter-reality which is foundational to Mihuț Boșcu Kafchin’s conceptual framework.
Drawing the map of our collective cloud – where Arcadia meets Star Wars’ expanded universe – the artist is maneuvering a huge machinery of Marvels.
