Hatice Pinarbaşi (b. in 1993) lives and works in Paris. She studied at École des Beaux-Arts de Paris. Her work frees itself from painted surfaces alone to unfold in space, form words, and transform into figures. Preferring play to mastery, she combines her pictorial practice with a taste for reading and languages as well as non-verbal humour in scenic and narrative environments.

Her work has recently been presented at Etablissement d’en Face, duo show with Rafael Moreno, Brussels; Kunsthaus-Galerie 21, Hambourg; gallery Parliament, Paris (invited by Loïc Le Gall); La Station, Nice (curated by Gwendal Coulon) ; MHKA Musée d’art contemporain, Anvers; Villa Belleville (curated by Alexandra Goullier Lhomme), Paris; Palais des Beaux-Arts de Paris, ENSBA, (curated by Marie Grihon); Salon de Montrouge (curated by Ami Barak).
In May, she will be part of the group exhibition “Sur le feu” at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
She’s currently in residence at the Villa Dufraine, Académie des beaux-arts.
